Cigarette smoking and subtypes of bladder cancer
Cigarette smoking may lead to the development of bladder cancer.
This study explored the connection between cigarette smoking and the development of bladder cancer. Up to 1,586 patients with bladder cancer and another 1,586 individuals without the disease enrolled for this study and provided information about their smoking habits.
Researchers observed that bladder cancer occurred at a high rate among cigarette smokers. This study strengthened the evidence that cigarette smoking might be a strong risk factor for the development of bladder cancer.
