High ingestion of fatty foods may spur the development of cancerous cells and tumors in the lungs.

This study assessed the intake of fatty foods in relation to the development of lung cancer. Researchers looked at the dietary records of 426 men with lung cancer and 419 individuals without the disease. 

The team of investigators noted that the likelihood of developing lung cancer was high among habitual consumers of foods rich in fat and cholesterol. This study points out the role fatty foods play in the development of lung cancer.
