Sustained level of physical activity may help to reduce an individual's risk of having non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

This study examined whether an association exists between the frequency of physical activity and the likelihood of developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Up to 288 out of the 1,373 Korean men and women who volunteered lifestyle and health information for this over 4-year study were diagnosed with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Researchers discovered that the more physically active people are, the greater the protection they enjoy from non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. The findings of this study revealed that engaging in physical activity regularly may be beneficial in the prevention of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
