Individuals fond of consuming processed and unprocessed red meat may be liable to develop ischemic heart disease.

This meta-analysis studied how high dietary ingestion of red meat affects an individual's odds of acquiring ischemic heart disease (IHD). Researchers utilized data and evidence culled from a pool of 13 scientific publications. 

Researchers found a 9% and 18% surge in the risk of ischemic heart disease among heavy consumers of unprocessed and processed red meat respectively. This 2023 study documented that eating a meaty diet may make an individual highly prone to suffer from ischemic heart disease.
