Indulgence in alcohol may elevate the risk of stomach cancer in men.

This study looked at the relationship between fondness for alcohol and the incidence of gastric (stomach) cancer. The study population included 7,150 Lithuanian men who provided information on whether they have been diagnosed with stomach cancer and their alcohol drinking habits for 30 years.

Researchers noted frequent consumption of alcohol correlated with rising risk of gastric cancer. This study points out that the odds of developing stomach cancer may be stacked against men who are habitual consumers of alcohol.
