An uptick in the risk of lung cancer is associated with increased consumption of alcohol.

This meta-analysis synthesized data from past studies that looked at the effect of alcohol intake on lung cancer risk. A total of 10 studies were considered eligible for this meta-analysis. 

Researchers noticed that the higher the amount of alcohol, including beer, consumed, the greater the risk of lung cancer. The findings of this study reveal that indulgence in alcohol may give rise to lung cancer.
