This study determined the role regular consumption of ultra-processed foods play in the development of cognitive decline in older adults. Researchers tracked the diets and cognitive performance of 3,632 individuals aged 60 years and above.

Researchers discovered that lovers of ultra-processed foods faced increased risk of experiencing a significant reduction in cognitive function. This study pointed out that larger intake of ultra-processed foods may accelerate cognitive decline in older adults.
