Devout consumption of antioxidant-containing foods may hinder the development of gestational diabetes in pregnant women.

Does high dietary ingestion of antioxidants from food sources reduce a pregnant woman's risk of suffering from gestational diabetes? This study set out to provide answer to this question. A total of 200 pregnant women with gestational diabetes and another 263 healthy females took part in this study. 

Researchers discovered that increased intake of foods packed with antioxidants boosted a pregnant woman's chances of avoiding gestational diabetes. The data from this study suggest that indulgence in antioxidant-rich foods may shield a pregnant woman from gestational diabetes.
