Vegetable and Fruit Intake Variety and Cardiovascular Health and Mortality: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies
Strict adherence to a high fruit and vegetable diet may help lower an individual's risk of dying prematurely from chronic diseases.
This study evaluated the correlation between eating a diet filled with different types of fruits and vegetables and the propensity of developing and dying from cardiovascular ailments and other diseases. Researchers utilized dietary and health data obtained from over 250,000 persons who participated in 12 studies.
Researchers discovered that individuals at the top of the fruit and vegetable consumption ladder had low chances of suffering from deaths arising from cardiovascular ailments and other causes. This study emphasized the important role a high fruit and vegetable diet play in the prevention of premature deaths from chronic diseases.
