Alcohol consumption and risk of melanoma among women: pooled analysis of eight case-control studies.
Women who are frequent consumers of alcohol may be more prone to develop melanoma.
This study examined alcohol consumption in relation to the development of melanoma in women by meta-analysis. Eight case-control studies were included in this meta-analysis. Researchers observed that regular drinking of alcohol increased the risk of developing melanoma. The findings of this study indicate that melanoma is more likely to occur in women who are habitual consumers of alcohol.
