Association between the intake of animal offal and depressive symptoms: a TCLSIH cohort study

Generous consumption of animal offal may give rise to depression.

This research work investigated the connection between likeness for animal offal and an individual's tendency to experience depression. Researchers surveyed the diet and mental health of 7,745 Chinese men and women. A total of 1,101 cases of depression was recorded during the duration of the study.

Researchers noticed that lovers of animal offal were more likely to suffer from depression than their counterparts who refrained from consuming these animal foods. The data from this study showed that habitual intake of animal offal may facilitate the onset of depression.
