An episode of hangover may make stroke more likely to occur in middle-aged men.

This study determined the role hangover plays in the development of stroke in middle-aged men. Researchers followed 2,466 men who had never had a stroke attack for 15.7 years. Over the course of the study, 206 cases of stroke were recorded.

Researchers discovered that the risk of ischemic stroke increased by 2.33 fold in men who had at least one episode of hangover in a year. The data from this study indicate that high risk of stroke is associated with hangover in middle-aged men.
