Sugar consumption, sugar sweetened beverages and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Indulgence in sugar-sweetened beverages may make an individual more likely to develop attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

​This study analyzed the relationship between preference for sugar-sweetened beverages and the occurrence of symptoms of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Researchers evaluated the dietary and medical records of 25,945 individuals who took part in 7 studies. 

Researchers found out that keen consumption of sugary beverages heightened a participant's risk of having attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. This study arrived at the conclusion that lovers of sugar-sweetened beverages may have a high tendency to suffer from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
