Sticking to a meaty diet may result in an upsurge in diabetes risk in men and women.

This meta-analysis reviewed the results of previously published studies that examined the relationship between the consumption of a meaty diet and the risk of developing diabetes. Data from studies performed on East Asian populations were utilized for this meta-analysis.

Researchers noticed a spike in the incidence of diabetes among regular consumers of processed and unprocessed meats. This meta-analysis demonstrated that frequent intake of processed and unprocessed meats may contribute to the high prevalence of diabetes in East Asian countries.
