Young individuals fond of using cannabis may be highly vulnerable to suffer from heart attack.

This study looked at the prevalence of myocardial infarction (heart attack) among individuals with a history of cannabis use. Researchers matched cannabis intake with heart attack occurrence rates in a study cohort made up of 33,173 young adults.

Researchers noted that cannabis users, particularly smokers, experienced more incidence of myocardial infarction than non-users of marijuana. This study arrived at the conclusion that cannabis usage may make young men and women prone to having heart attack.
