The odds of developing male pattern baldness may be stacked against young men with high intake of sugary beverages.
This study clarified whether habitual drinking of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) is linked to the development of male pattern baldness in young men. Researchers looked at data from 1,951 young men aged 18-45 years who responded to questionnaires on their choice of beverages and hair loss status.
Researchers observed that men who consumed generous amounts of sugary beverages faced increased risk of suffering from male pattern hair loss. Based on the data from this study, it can concluded that regular ingestion of sugared beverages may accelerate the onset of male pattern baldness in young men.
