Whole Grains
Cereal Grains, Legumes and Diabetes
Increased intake of cereals and legumes may help halt the onset of type 2 diabetes.
This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the consumption of legumes and whole grains (cereals) and the probability of developing type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Researchers utilized data obtained from eligible studies.
Researchers observed that frequent consumers of legumes and cereals had improved chances of preventing type 2 diabetes. This study provides material evidence that adherence to diets high in cereals and legumes can substantially reduce the incidence of type 2 diabetes in the general population.
