Whole Food Plant Based
Plant-based diets are not nutritionally deficient.
Nutrient deficiency diseases are not associated with vegetarian diets.
This research work evaluated the nutrient content of vegetarian diets. Researchers studied more than 5000 subjects on low-fat, whole food, plant-based nutrition therapy for 28 years. They discovered that none of the patients developed any nutrient deficiency disease during the duration of treatment. However, researchers did recommend adequate sunshine (to supply vitamin D) and vitamin B supplements to the subjects. Dietary supplementation with protein, calcium, iron, and fatty acids were found to have no beneficial effect on the subjects. The findings of this study reveal that vegetarian diets are rich in essential nutrients required by the body for healthy living.
