Generous consumption of vegetables may help to fend off lung cancer.

​This study was carried out to confirm the protective effect of high vegetable diet against lung cancer. Researchers compared the diets of 332 patients with lung cancer with that of 865 healthy men and women residing in Hawaii. 

The team of investigators found out that indulgence in all types of vegetables, including tomatoes, cruciferous, and dark green vegetables, significantly reduced the odds of developing lung cancer. The results of this study suggest that individuals who want cut down their risk of lung cancer should add more vegetables to their diets.
