Creating more room for spinach in our menu may reduce our chances of having non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).

This study examined the influence of high dietary ingestion of spinach on the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Researchers evaluated the spinach-consumption habits of 225 patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and 450 Iranian adults without this condition.

Researchers found out that non-alcoholic fatty liver disease was less likely to occur among devout consumers of spinach. Evidence from this study supports the inclusion of spinach in a non-alcoholic fatty liver disease-preventive diet.
