Relationship between consumption of raw garlic and handgrip strength in a large-scale adult population

Improved handgrip strength is associated with regular consumption of raw garlic.

This study evaluated how consistent eating of raw garlic affects the strength of muscles of the hand. Researchers utilized data on the diet and handgrip strength obtained from 28,958 men and women using self-administered food frequency questionnaires and handheld digital dynamometer.

Researchers discovered that habitual consumption of raw garlic helps strengthen muscles of the hand and maintain handgrip strength. This study points out the positive effect of dietary ingestion of raw garlic on handgrip strength.
