Fruit and vegetable consumption and the risk of depression: a meta-analysis.

Depression is less likely to occur in individuals who are frequent consumers of fruits and vegetables.

This study investigated the correlation between dietary ingestion of fruits and vegetables and the risk of suffering from depression. Researchers reviewed data obtained from 18 studies that examined 446551 volunteers. They found out the high intake of fruits and vegetables decreased the chances of developing depression. The findings of this study reveal that the likelihood of developing depression may decrease with consistent consumption of fruits and vegetables.
