High dietary ingestion of vegetables may help to keep depression away from the elderly.

​This study clarified the association between the consumption of vegetables and the onset of depression in elderly persons. Researchers compared dietary patterns with the rate of occurrence of depression among 1,609 Taiwanese men and women aged 65 years and above. 

Researchers noted that high consumers of vegetables had slight chances of coming down with depression. The findings of this study reveal that high vegetable diets may help to ward off depression in older people.
