Cruciferous vegetable consumption and the risk of pancreatic cancer.

Low pancreatic cancer risk is associated with frequent consumers of cruciferous vegetables.

This study investigated the correlation between cruciferous vegetable intake and pancreatic cancer risk. Researchers reviewed data obtained from 4 cohort studies and 5 case control studies. They observed that high consumers of cruciferous vegetables had low pancreatic cancer risk. The findings of this meta-analysis show that increased intake of cruciferous vegetables may confer significant protection against the development of pancreatic cancer.
