Consistent consumption of allium vegetables may help halt the onset of colorectal cancer.

This study determined the role regular ingestion of allium vegetables, such as garlic, leek, and onions, play in the prevention of colorectal cancer. Researchers assessed the eating habits of 833 patients with colorectal cancer and 833 healthy individuals living China.

Researchers noticed that lovers of allium vegetables were more likely to stay free from colorectal cancer than their colleagues who refrained from consuming these plant foods. The findings of this study suggest that adopting a high allium vegetable diet should be incorporated as part of a dietary approach for the prevention of colorectal cancer.
