Salty food preference is associated with osteoporosis among Chinese men.

Preference for salty foods is associated with increased risk of osteoporosis in Chinese men.

This study evaluated the relationship between fondness for salty foods and the incidence of osteoporosis among Chinese men. Researchers examined the dietary and health records of 1,092 Chinese men.

Researchers discovered that the odds of developing osteoporosis were higher among habitual consumers of salty foods than in non-consumers of these foods. The findings of this study reveal that indulgence in salty foods may be one of the factors responsible for the high incidence of osteoporosis among Chinese men.
