Ultra-processed foods and risk of all-cause mortality: an updated systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies
Fondness for ultra-processed foods may result in a hike in mortality risk in men and women.
This meta-analysis clarified the relationship between frequent ingestion of ultra-processed foods and the likelihood of suffering from early death. Researchers sifted through data obtained from a pool of 18 studies.
Researchers noticed that participants with high intake of ultra-processed foods had 15% greater risk of dying prematurely than their colleagues who refrained from consuming these foods. The results of this study showed that increased consumption of ultra-processed foods may shorten the lifespan of men and women.
