Regular consumption of walnuts and other tree nuts may cut down type 2 diabetes risk in women.

This study investigated the association between walnut intake and type 2 diabetes risk in women. Using validated food frequency questionnaires, researchers collected and analyzed data on the nut consumption rate of 79,893 women between the ages of 35-52 and without any history of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and diabetes. They discovered a protective association between consistent consumption of walnuts and other tree nuts and type 2 diabetes. The findings of this study show that increased intake of walnuts and other tree nuts may reduce an individual's susceptibility to type 2 diabetes.
