Avid consumption of fiber-containing foods, such as fruits and whole grains may help fend off diverticulitis in women.

This study examined how high fiber diet influences the likelihood of diverticulitis occurring in women. Researchers studied the dietary habits of 4,343 women with diverticulitis and another 45,676 women free from this disease.

Researchers noted that high intake of fiber-rich foods, particularly fruits and cereals, diminished the risk of diverticulitis. This study emphasizes the vital role high-fiber foods play in the prevention of diverticulitis in women.
