Consuming a wide variety of fruits and vegetables regularly may enhance cognitive function in middle-aged and elderly individuals.


This study examined the impact of frequent consumption of fruits and vegetables on cognitive function in middle-aged and older adults. Researchers gathered information about the dietary choices and mental health of 1,412 Puerto Rican men and women aged 45-75 years. 

Researchers discovered that regular ingestion of different types of fruits and vegetables improved cognitive domains, such as memory, attention, and executive function. This study highlights the beneficial effect of eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables on cognitive function in middle-aged and elderly individuals.
