Sticking to a high fruit and vegetable diet may reduce a woman's susceptibility to coronary heart disease (CHD).
This research work examined if there is a connection between frequent intake of fruits and vegetables and decreased risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Researchers utilized dietary and health data collected from more than 100,000 Chinese men and women aged 40-74 years. A total of 365 participants receive a diagnosis of coronary heart disease during the course of the study.
Researchers noted that women—not men—who consumed generous portions of fruits and vegetables regularly had low tendency of suffering from coronary heart disease. Based on data from this study, it can be concluded that eating more fruits and vegetables can help a woman beat off coronary heart disease.
