Dietary Antioxidants, Circulating Antioxidant Concentrations, Total Antioxidant Capacity, and Risk of All-Cause Mortality: A Systematic Review and Dose-Response Meta-Analysis of Prospective Observational Studies

Generous consumption of antioxidants from plant foods, such as fruits and vegetables, may cut down mortality risk in men and women.

This study investigated the correlation between increased dietary exposure to antioxidants and mortality risk by means of a meta-analysis. Researchers sifted through data extracted from over 500,000 men and women who took part in 41 studies.

Researchers found a low death toll among high consumers of plant foods packed with antioxidants, such as fruits and vegetables. This study indicated that embracing a high antioxidant diet may help prolong the lifespan of men and women.
