Physical activity reduces the risk of pneumonia: systematic review and meta-analysis of 10 prospective studies involving 1,044,492 participants

Cultivating the habit of exercising regularly may help shield an individual against pneumonia.

This study investigated the correlation between adopting a physically active lifestyle and the probability of contracting and dying from pneumonia. Researchers thoroughly reviewed the results of 10 studies that examined more than 1 million men and women.

Researchers discovered that engaging in physical activity significantly diminished pneumonia incidence and mortality risk. This meta-analysis corroborated the findings of other studies that reported that partaking in exercise regularly may help reduce an individual's susceptibility to pneumonia.
