Coffee Intake and Progression of Glaucoma.

Frequent drinking of coffee may accelerate the progression of glaucoma.

​This study determined the role coffee intake play in the progression of glaucoma. Researchers used data extracted from 91 glaucoma patients on topical anti-glaucoma drugs. 

Researchers found out that the rate of progression glaucoma increased by 8.1 folds among daily consumers of coffee. The authors concluded that "drinking coffee daily was associated with glaucoma progression in this small study."
