A systematic review and meta-analysis of tobacco use and prostate cancer mortality and incidence in prospective cohort studies.

Cigarette smokers are more liable to develop and die from prostate cancer.

This study analyzed the association between cigarette smoking and prostate cancer development and mortality risk. Researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine, New York, USA, systematically reviewed data and evidence from 51 published scientific literatures involving 4,082,606 subjects and 50,349 cases of prostate cancer.

The team of scientists found out that cigarette smoking raised the odds of developing and dying from prostate cancer. "Smoking increases the chance of prostate cancer death," concluded the authors of this study.
