Marijuana use may facilitate the development of lung cancer.

​This study determined the risk of lung cancer associated with the use of marijuana (cannabis). Researchers followed 49,321 Swedish men aged 18-20 years for a period of 40 years, monitoring their marijuana usage and health. 

The research team discovered that cannabis smoking increased the risk of lung cancer by more than 2-fold. The findings of this study revealed that marijuana use might be a contributing factor to the development of lung cancer.
