Cannabis use may raise the risk of suffering from psychosis, schizophrenia, anxiety, and mood disorders.

This study investigated the link between regular exposure to cannabis and the onset of psychosis. Researchers used data extracted from a significant number of studies on the subject.

Researchers noted that cannabis use heightened the risk of suffering from psychosis. In addition, the tendency to develop several psychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia, anxiety, and mood disorders, was observed to be high among cannabis users in this study. Evidence from this study suggest that habitual intake of cannabis may be a contributing factor to the development of psychosis, schizophrenia, anxiety, and mood disorders.
