Cannabis smoking may promote the formation, growth, and spread of cancerous cells and tumors in the lungs.

​This study investigated the link between cannabis smoking and the tendency to develop lung cancer. Researchers tracked the cannabis smoking habits and incidence of lung cancer in a study population comprising of over 400 adults residing in New Zealand.

Researchers found out that cannabis smoking significantly increased the odds of acquiring lung cancer. Evidence from this study indicate that cannabis smokers are liable to develop lung cancer.
