Cannabis and psychosis/schizophrenia: human studies.

The use of cannabis might be a risk factor for the development of psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia.

​This study assessed the risk of acquiring psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia, in relation to the use of cannabis. Researchers evaluated data and evidence compiled from eligible human studies.

Researchers found out that the risk of developing psychotic disorders, such as schizophrenia, was high among users of cannabis. Evidence from this study indicate that usage of cannabis may induce the onset of psychotic disorders.
