Cannabinoid-induced Pancreatitis: A Case Series

Cannabis smoking may induce the development of acute pancreatitis.

This study examined whether cannabis smoking favors the development of acute pancreatitis. Researchers assessed the cannabis intake habits of 3 patients within the age bracket of 20-23 years diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. 

The research team noted that cannabis smoking was the cause of acute pancreatitis in all the participants in this study. Evidence from this study indicate that cannabis use may lead to the development of acute pancreatitis.
