Egg consumption and risk of incident type 2 diabetes: a dose-response meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies.

Regular consumers of eggs may have a high propensity to develop type 2 diabetes.

This study examined egg intake in connection with the development of type 2 diabetes. A group of researchers from the Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health conducted a thorough meta-analysis on data extracted from 10 published studies.

The research team discovered that a surge in type 2 diabetes risk was associated with high consumption of eggs, especially among Americans. The results of this study re-enforced the notion that generous consumption of eggs may facilitate the onset of type 2 diabetes.
