Egg consumption and risk of heart failure in the Physicians' Health Study.

Frequent consumers of eggs are more prone to suffer from heart failure than individuals who rarely consume or totally avoid eggs.

This study evaluated the relationship of egg consumption to heart failure among US male physicians. A team of researchers from Harvard Medical School examined the egg consumption rate of 21,275 subjects. The heart failure risk of each participant in this study was also determined.

Researchers observed a significant elevation in heart failure risk among subjects who consumed one or more eggs per day. The findings of this study suggest that diets loaded with eggs may increase the risk of suffering from heart failure in adult males.
