Consumption of beer and colorectal cancer incidence: a meta-analysis of observational studies.

Alcohol and beer drinkers are highly vulnerable to colorectal cancer.

This study investigated the correlation between beer consumption and colorectal cancer risk. Researchers reviewed data obtained from 9 cohort and 12 case-control studies. They discovered a high incidence of colorectal cancer among beer and alcohol drinkers, particularly among heavy drinkers. The cancer-promoting effect of beer was found to be stronger in the rectum than in the colon. The results of this meta-analysis show that drinking of alcohol and beer may increase colorectal cancer risk.
