Association Between Alcohol Consumption and Hypertension in Chinese Adults: Findings From the CHNS

Alcohol drinkers may be highly prone to suffer from hypertension.

This study was carried out to confirm the detrimental effect of alcohol consumption on the risk of hypertension. Researchers charted alcohol drinking habits against diagnosis of hypertension in a study group comprising 12,577 Chinese men and women. 

Researchers observed that alcohol consumers experienced an upsurge in the risk of hypertension. Evidence from this study show that frequent drinking of alcohol may contribute to the onset of hypertension.
