Drinking of alcohol may raise a woman's chances of having endometriosis.

This study investigated the correlation between alcohol intake and endometriosis development risk using a meta-analytic approach. A team of researchers from Italy collated and reviewed data and evidence extracted from 15 studies.

The research team observed that alcohol consumers demonstrated a significant increase in endometriosis risk compared to non-consumers of alcoholic beverages. This findings of this meta-analysis support the hypothesis that women who drink alcohol may have higher rates of endometriosis than females who do not consume alcohol.
