The association between dietary antioxidant index (DAI) and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) onset; new findings from an incident case-control study
Subscribing to a high antioxidant diet may help curb the onset of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in men and women.
This study was carried out to affirm the protective effect exerted by antioxidant-rich foods against the development of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The study population included 295 individuals battling with NAFLD and 700 persons without a history of this disease.
Researchers discovered that participants who consumed high amounts of foods loaded with antioxidants had great chances of evading a diagnosis of NAFLD. This study demonstrated that optimal intake of antioxidants from food sources may help thwart the development of NAFLD in men and women.
