The empirical dietary inflammatory pattern score and the risk of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease and cirrhosis
A woman's love for pro-inflammatory foods may put her on the path that leads to the development of liver cirrhosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).
This study was carried out to verify the harmful effect of pro-inflammatory diets on liver health. The study population included 96,016 US women who volunteered dietary and health information.
Researchers noticed a spike in the risk of liver cirrhosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) among participants at the top of the pro-inflammatory food consumption ladder. Evidence from this study indicate that indulgence in pro-inflammatory foods may increase a woman's likelihood of suffering from liver cirrhosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
