Inflammatory Potential of Diet and Risk of Ulcerative Colitis in a Case-Control Study from Iran
The odds of suffering from ulcerative colitis may be stacked against lovers of pro-inflammatory foods.
This research work addressed the concerns surrounding the role of high inflammation diet in the development of ulcerative colitis. Researchers studied the submitted dietary questionnaires of 62 patients with ulcerative colitis and 124 Iranian men and women without this condition.
Researchers observed that consumers of pro-inflammatory foods exhibited an upsurge in the likelihood of having ulcerative colitis. This study concluded that a high inflammatory diet may propel the development of ulcerative colitis in men and women.
