Dietary Inflammatory Index in relation to Type 2 Diabetes: A Meta-Analysis

Cultivating the habit of eating pro-inflammatory foods may propel an individual on the path to receiving a diagnosis of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

This study aimed to understand the interplay between consuming a pro-inflammatory diet and an individual's propensity to develop type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Researchers conducted a meticulous meta-analysis on data and evidence drawn out from a pool of 48 studies.

Researchers noticed that preference for pro-inflammatory foods heightened type 2 diabetes risk in men and women. This study strengthened the body of evidence supporting the notion that pro-inflammatory food eaters are likely to end up with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
