Are statins diabetogenic?

Individuals on statins may have a high tendency of developing type 2 diabetes.

This study examined statin intake in relation to the incidence of type 2 diabetes. Researchers reviewed data extracted from several published literatures on the subject. They observed that patients placed on statins had greater risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The findings of this study support the hypothesis that statins may have a diabetogenic effect on humans.
